Venus Envy is very pleased to present a workshop series with Andrea Zanin
Andrea Zanin, a.k.a. Sex Geek, pretty much writes and talks about sex all the time unless she's eating, sleeping or having it. She lives in Toronto and is an organizer, educator and writer within the queer, polyamory and BDSM communities, as well as being an active trans ally. With an academic background in women's studies and sexuality studies, she frequently speaks about alternative sexuality for universities, colleges, sex shops, community groups and conferences in Canada and the States. Andrea also comments on alternative-sexuality news and politics in a variety of media including the Montreal Mirror and the Toronto Xtra!, as well as obsessively blogging at http://sexgeek.wordpress.com. On the side, she writes erotic fiction and pursues her studies in the field of sexuality.
"10 Rules for Happy Non-Monogamy"
So you'd like to be romantically involved with more than one person at once? Or maybe you'd just like to sleep with someone other than your one-and-only? Whether you're considering your first steps into non-monogamy or you're an old hand looking for a fresh perspective, you'll find valuable tidbits in this common-sense approach to enjoying love and sex in the plural. This is an interactive workshop with lots of room for beginners and experienced poly folk alike to share their questions and experiences.

The body is an exquisite instrument… and we can all become better players! In this workshop, we'll talk about ways to tune into your partner during the opening notes of your scenes, look at how different areas of the body hold different emotions, and learn techniques for tapping into those emotions. Then, it's time to play! We'll look at fun ways to use your hands, arms, legs, torso, feet, mouth and other body parts to create sensual SM symphonies that can range from gentle to challenging. This is an interactive workshop; you'll be encouraged to ask questions, share your experiences and contribute your ideas.

You'll discover the three essential aspects of making an impact, get a tour of the wide range of implements you might want to try, and learn about how to hit safely and effectively. Of course we'll talk about bodies and toys, but most important, we'll get into the psychology of hitting and discuss how to put together the kinds of impact-play scenes that really work for your particular kinks. Packed with demos and highly interactive, this workshop is guaranteed to give you plenty of exciting ideas for your impact play!

Mirror Image
MIRROR IMAGE is an organization born out of love, with the aim to help transgendered people afford their surgeries.
Eureka Love and Lanti Steele will be hosting the second Mirror Image Saturday, March 7th, at 9pm at the Bus Stop Theatre!
Come see an amazing and unique array of entertainment featuring burlesque, drag performances, and special guest, Lucas Silveira of the Cliks!
There will be carnival games, food catered by chef Richard Sanford, and a silent auction full of fun goodies. All of the proceeds are going to Kris Figueroa to help him cover his upcoming chest surgery. Kris is an active member of the GLBT community, sitting on both the Pride Committee and the Youth Board of the Youth Project, Halifax's GLBT youth centre. With all the hard work he does for us, what better way to show our appreciation than to give back!
Tickets are $31, with a dollar from each ticket going to Bus Stop Theatre, our local indie theatre.
Tickets should be bought in advance, there is limited seating. If you are not able to attend the event but would still like to donate you may purchase a ticket[s] that can then be given to those who are not able to afford their own.

The University of Ottawa's Couple Research Lab is looking for participants for their online study on same-sex couple relationships! This study aims to better understand personal and relationship factors that contribute to well being and distress in same-sex couples.
To be eligible, you must be 18 years old or more, have a good knowledge of English and be in a same-sex couple relationship for at least 12 months. In order to thank you for your participation, you will be entered in a draw for gift certificates to a music store.
