Dance Like Everyone's Watching
Is there an exhibitionist in you just writhing to get out?
Dance Like Everyone's Watching is a workshop that focuses on building character, courage and ingenuity as a burlesque performer. No matter what your shape, gender, age or performance skill level is, there is
a place for you in erotic cabaret, whether you want to start your own troupe, be an independent or simply polish up your private home entertainment skills.
Sasha Van Bon Bon Bio
Sasha is a native Montrealer who has been producing and performing burlesque in Toronto for a decade. As a stage artist, she loves nothing more than to bring diverse groups of people together to share in challenging but inspirational connections. Experience has taught
her the lure of sexual content is the best way of attracting the biggest cross-section of people and she loves burlesque for its smorgasbord aspect—there is truly something for everyone at a cabaret. Her group the Scandelles is one of the original neo-burlesque troupes in Canada and is the only one doing theatre-produced shows.
Recent career highlights include the productions Who's Your Dada? (writer, performer), Neon Nightz (writer, performer), the Dora award winning Arthouse Cabaret (creator, performer), Under the Mink (creator, performer) and the short film Give Piece of Ass a Chance (writer, performer), which went on to screen at over 20 international film festivals. Last year, she also participated in the first Jane's Walk in Toronto with a wildly successful tour called "Places to Bonk on Your Lunch Hour," where she took a very mixed group of folks to visit clandestine sex landmarks.
Sasha is also a nationally syndicated sex columnist whose work has appeared in various Canadian weeklies for over 14 years.

International Women's Day Goes Green
March 8, 2009 is International Women's Day and we're going green! To celebrate the day, The Women's Event Network is organizing an event, a Women's Marketplace which will take place at 211 Bronson Avenue in Mac Hall.
Women from the community are welcome to bring goods they would like to buy, sell, share, trade, or donate. Crafts, food, clothing and other gently used things are welcome. This is an excellent way to reduce, re-use, or recycle the things in your house, because as they say, "One woman's trash is another woman's treasure!"
Organizations are also welcome to bring pamphlets and information about their services, and are encouraged to sponsor a woman's table at the marketplace for a small fee. This fee will cover the operating costs of the event.
On top of the marketplace, there will also be a multi-cultural celebration through dancing, music and drumming. The event will take place from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Mac Hall in the Bronson Centre. For more information, contact Valerie Collicott at the Women's Event Network.
If you would like to book a table to trade or sell something, contact Valerie Collicott at (613) 230-6700.

Research Study on Women and Sexual Pain
Are you unable to insert a tampon?
Are you unable to have a gynecological exam?
Pain during sexual activity (dyspareunia) and difficulties with vaginal penetration (vaginismus) are surprisingly common but very frustrating women's health problems. They can affect a woman's sexuality, her relationship, her psychological well-being, her ability to take care of her gynecological health and, for some women, prevent the conception of a baby.
Researchers from the Human Sexuality Research Laboratory at the University of Ottawa are conducting research to understand these problems and contribute to the development of more effective treatment.
Women (age 18-44) are invited to participate in a research project if they have always had difficulty with vaginal penetration or have had pain during at least half of all intercourse occasions.
Participation involves:
2 visits to the University of Ottawa
Completing a set of questionnaires
Watching film clips while your physical reaction is measured (no physical contact).
You will be compensated for your time and receive information on treatment options.
This research is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and approved by the University of Ottawa Research Ethics Board.
