SheDogs Bathouse for Women & Trans Folks
The SheDogs' Valentine's Bathhouse will be a little late this year, but hey, that's not going to stop any of us from having a sweet time, is it?
We'll have the reading room, sexy games, demos and other fun stuff.
This event is for women and transfolks of all orientations, ages and body types. Check your preconceptions and your inhibitions at the door and join us for a sexy good time.

Yes Means Yes! Jaclyn Friedman at Venus Envy
What if, instead of just the absence of "no," an enthusiastic "yes" was required as a standard for sexual consent?
What if, instead of treating sex like a commodity that women need to guard and men need to get, our culture viewed sex as a collaborative improv performance?
Based on Friedman's hit new book Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape, this talk connects the dots between how rape is allowed to function in society, how the culture shames women for expressing their sexuality, and how the media uses empty images of female sexuality to fuel sales. Plus: practical action steps that everyone can take to start making change now.

About Jaclyn:
Jaclyn Friedman is a queer Jewish writer, performer, and activist, and the editor of the hit new book Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape.
Friedman is also an award-winning poet and performer who has shared the stage with the legendary spoken-word troupe Sister Spit and whose work has been published in many outlets, including Bitch, AlterNet, Women's eNews, and PW.org. She works as the Program Director of the Center for New Words, and is the co-founder of WAM!, CNW's conference on Women, Action, & the Media. She performs and agitates with Big Moves, a national size-diverse dance and performance troupe. Friedman holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College.

A reading with Nainre Holtz
Nairne Holtz is a Montreal-based author whom The Globe and Mail identified as a “writer to watch.” Her first novel, The Skin Beneath (Insomniac, 2007), won the Alice B. Lesbian Debut Fiction Award and was a finalist for Quebec’s McAuslan First Book Prize.
She'll be reading from her recently published second book, This One’s Going to Last Forever (Insomniac, 2009).

The University of Ottawa's Couple Research Lab is looking for participants for their online study on same-sex couple relationships! This study aims to better understand personal and relationship factors that contribute to well being and distress in same-sex couples.
To be eligible, you must be 18 years old or more, have a good knowledge of English and be in a same-sex couple relationship for at least 12 months. In order to thank you for your participation, you will be entered in a draw for gift certificates to a music store.
